The rooftop is awesome! Nice view, friendly waiters, really good food and reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place!

This was our last dinner for vacation and we ended our trip with a bang! The atmosphere is fun and super casual. The food was DELICIOUS! The server Connely, was so nice too! We ordered the shrimp platter, shrimp cocktail with a side of mashed potatoes, fish and chips, and my son had the fish sticks. Everything was wonderful! Unfortunately my daughter was not feeling well, too much beech fun, so we had to leave. My order was to go and I was super impressed! The blackened shrimp pasta was amazingly delish AND it was even plated nicely in the to go box! The server Connelly even gave husband an extra "plate" for my daughter so my son and daughter would both have one! What an absolutely sweet thing to do! We will be sure to be back next time we are in town! Thank you for making our last dinner in town wonderful!!!!!

First let me say this review is posted by a fish snob. I don't eat anything raw & very, very picky about fresh seafood! . The food here was so great. The fish so fresh , I actually had my first raw oyster!!! My husband and I returned the next day for another platter of oysters. Also had the Oysters Rockafella ...amazing as well. Patrick our bartender was very attentive, gave great service in addition to local tips. I think we will have to fly out from CA just for another taste of these little crustaceans!

We stopped in for oyster shots and oysters a few times I can say I've had better. The wait staff were super friendly to me and my family several of them thought the food was great. But I wouldn't come here for oysters anytime soon.

Waitstaff is friendly and nice, food was overpriced for me, came a bit cool and had to cover my mouth as a guy was smoking on the top floor--is that even allowed? After eating it took 17 minutes to receive coffee and it was barely Luke warm....disappointed.

Great bar on the Folly Beach area. Strong local hangout, but the "tenders at the bar were nice, heavy handed and made sure we were ok. Didn't have any food at this place as we had just finished dinner with friends and family, but there's a Sushi restaurant inhabiting the same floor space.....next time.

Delish rooftop lunch. Juicy burger, cooked perfectly medium. Salmon BLT, salmon seared just right. Pasta and shrimp with a fantastic spicy flavor. And a BIG fish sandwich, crunchy batter, moist inside. Great service from Sam!! The only issue is the beers are not cold. Glad we stopped. But would probably try someplace else next time in Folly Beach. Hopefully with chilled brews!!

The roof top is the highest in folly beach. Tuesday happy hour is $2 well liquor drinks and live music. It was so relaxing and the drinks were good that we spent 5 hours there!! We ordered the fresh catch of the day and were blown away!!

We decided to grab a drink here because we thought it was a cool roof top bar. Honestly, that's about there is going for it up there. We only had drinks, so we can't speak for the food or anything. The service was ok and the drinks were fine, nothing really great though. We were here at night so the view wasn't as amazing and I'm sure it is in the daytime, but still really nice. We liked hanging out up there, but it was pretty lackluster otherwise. Very neutral experience.

I've not eaten at many places with really great service but lousy food. Our experience at snapper jacks was such a place. Our waitress was awesome and the food and drinks came quickly, but the food was not very good and way over priced. The crab legs, which are really hard to screw up, literally tasted like they were steamed the night before, very dry and nearly impossible to eat. The oysters were very good, as were the shrimp; however, the three of us got two or three shrimp each for $16. We made the fatal error of choosing a restaurant near the beach with plenty of seating around lunch time. When will we ever learn?

    (2)
  • Will B.

Great staff (ask for Kelsey); gumbo was a huge surprise as were the buffalo shrimp. Also, can't beat $3.50 ouster shooters. We will definitely be back!

We dropped into this place on our honeymoon, after being on folly beach all morning. We had the low country boil and it was incredible. We also got the hush puppies, served with cocktail and tarter sauce. The atmosphere is fun and laid back. The waitress was so helpful and service was fast. Also, there's a sweet bathroom to freshen up in - a must if you've been on the beach for hours. We'll be back!

The food was mediocre and overpriced for what it is. I know this is a tourist trap but $9 for 3 chicken tenders and fries is ridiculous, especially given the quality. I had the crab dip and was not impressed. We ordered a strawberry daiquiri and strawberry lemonade frozen drink and weren't impressed by either. They were very sweet but not strong liquor-wise. The waitress was sweet but that doesn't make up for the subpar food and drinks.

We had a late lunch here after a few hours on the beach and in the sun. We sat at the roof top bar, the view is amazing! We enjoyed some drinks, the Daquaris are very good, and a little strong! The palmento cheese was amazing! And so was the salmon BLT! We plan to go back again soon. Service was a little slow but it was good and worth the wait.

Place is great on the main floor. We had great service and great food the day we arrived in Folly on Thursday night. However the bartender on the rooftop on the night of July 25th was so rude that we just left. The bar was empty and he was not busy, yet he was really put out when we asked him some questions about what drinks they have.

Wow. So it's our last night on Folly Beach and we arrived at Snapper Jack's just after 7:30 There are 4 of us in our party. The hostess said it would be about a 45 minute wait. No problem. We put our name in and got drinks from the bar. Before wandering up to the roof deck to listen to some live music while waiting, one in my party checked in with the hostess, who rolled her eyes and said she would call us. We found an available table and grabbed it. We sat at the table for over 30 minutes without anyone coming to serve us, check on us, etc. Thankfully, there was music! After close to an hour, my phone rang. It was the hostess telling us that they regret to inform is but our 45 minute wait was now indefinite due to a large party. It could be up to 3 hours. I told her we were seated at a table on the roof deck and she seemed surprised. She said we could try to get served up there but she had nothing to do with the 3rd floor. Hmmm. Now I am dumbfounded. It was the same servers we saw on the first floor running food up here. Anyway the server we finally flagged down said she was going to the kitchen to check on food and would inquire. After seeing her run around to all the tables around us, she finally let us know they could not take food orders. Well, Snapper Jacks, we see where we stand. We are very disappointed in the way this was handled. We won't recommend it, and we won't return on our next visit.

  • Megan H.

Not our fave. Hostess seemed annoyed by us. Fish sandwich was heavily breaded. Hush puppies tasted stale and were too dense. Salmon was tasteless. Server, Rachel, was the redeeming quality.

We love to come here and soak up the view from this roof top bar. Food is a bit spendy, so we don't eat here. I'm sure they need to cover their overhead for the size of this restaurant. I didn't know a shot of Van Gogh Espresso vodka was $6.50. Now we do.

First off, the people here were very nice and helpful! We sat at the rooftop bar with our family while waiting for our table. Nice view although somewhat obstructed by a large hotel. We got our table on the street level quickly. The food was good (really liked the oysters), but the portions were a bit small. The chef was very good about making sure one of our children got food that was gluten and dairy free. This place is worth a stop if you're in town for a few days or on a nice night to have a drink and bar food on the roof.

We came in to grab a bite after visiting the beach. We were kindly seated quickly, and drinks were taken. Took about 10min for them to come back and actually take our order. I ordered an appetizer and never got it. About 35min later we all receive our main entree and my appetizer. The food seemed to have been sitting in the back because our food was lukewarm. Our waitress was new to the place, I got it, but it shouldn't have been that bad of service. To top it off, they ran our friends card with the wrong price, voided it then ran it again correctly, and we never got a box to take some food home. After all that, I didn't want to take any food home anyway. I will probably never come back here.

Service was okay. We ate right before the evening rush, so we basically lost our service as they got busier. The food was good. Mussels were good. They were helpful about a few food allergies. Fish fry was awesome. Bloody marys were good as well. Best yet, the sushi was amazing. I had the spicy tuna roll and the veggie roll. Super good! Probably the best I've ever had. And the portions were gigantic - about ten piece rolls. Overall pretty good evening.

Stopped here for a quick drink with hopes of catching the last few laps of the Daytona 500. While we sat their nearly 10 minutes before being asked for anything, so i just got a soda and a water the bartender also handed us menu's we continued to watch the race and i thought chicken wings sounded good, So i ordered the garlic Parmesan, as that is sort of my "go to" sauce for wings at new places. they came out pretty quick and i was surprised how many big wings their were, I looked at the wings more and thought their sure isn't much sauce on them, well i took a bite and it was a wing with some sauce so it ws pretty good, but the next few bites had little to no sauce, what a bummer! I grabbed the next wing which was pretty big took a bit and noticed it was kind of bloody, NEXT.... so i had a bite of the next wing and same result....undercooked, no wonder they came out so quick. I snacked on some of the other wings that were pretty much left unsauced, got the bill and left. Maybe it's my fault for ordering chicken wings when you're 2 blocks from the ocean, but if they messed up Chicken wings i'd be Leary of other stuff. Saving grace of this place, is the building itself very cool, nice theme inside, plenty of tv screens to catch up with sports, i might come back but I might go for something they serve more of.

The service was great; however, their kitchen is all kinds of messed up. After waiting over an hour for our food they still could not get the order right. Go if you only want drinks and appetizers, but not for dinner.

Bad service. Not really busy either. Bartender way overworked with little help and lots of attitude. Food OK. Wait staff struggled to smile.

Sorry, I can't say much about the food since we didn't order any. We stopped in to the bar a few nights of our vacation to soak up the scenery and enjoy people watching through the large windows. Bartender was very polite and attentive, without being pushy. Was able to switch seamlessly between tending to the calmer groups and the rowdy crowd.

I had a really good time here. My husband did some research online to figure out where he'd take me out on our first child-free outing. So he found this bar which has a rooftop area... which was an awesome idea! (Great idea hun!) It provided partial views of the beach and a nice dose of wind to keep cool with. The bartender was great. He was very friendly and quick. The margaritas were delicious! Although the cup was small, the drink was very tasty and strong (but didn't taste strong... I just knew it afterwards). As for the food, it was delicious. I asked for coleslaw on the side, instead of inside the fish taco... but I think the bartender forgot to put that special request in. Otherwise, the scallops, shrimp and fish were cooked perfectly and had really good flavors!

Six dollars for a dozen gulf oysters during happy hour. I ate six dozen, they were great! They are the only happy hour food special, and the rest of the apps I tried were good but a bit too expensive for the portion and quality. The rooftop is a plus, but the service is a bit on the slow side.

We have been to Snapper Jacks several times before for drinks at the patio bar. The view is the best in Folly for the surrounding restaurants. The staff is extremely friendly and does an outstanding job. We recently decided to grab some food instead of just drinks and were presently surprised. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Once again we were greeted with excellent service. Our waitress did an excellent job and was constantly at our table. The only issue we ran into was how long our food took to get to our table. But regardless it was a great experience and great food and we will definitely be returning.

Our favorite restaurant all week. My strawberry lemonade was amazing and my husband was happy with happy hour and cheap beer. Everything we got was awesome (blackened shrimp pasta, clams, tuna, Philly cheesesteak and steak)!! Most tables are high tops with stools so it was hard for my 3 year old. Service was great with a great atmosphere.

We were not satisfied with the experience. The service was fine, but once we arrived home, my girlfriend and I both began to experience stomach pain. My suggestion is to avoid the buffalo shrimp; not sure if it was cooked incorrectly or what, but it was definitely what made us sick. Otherwise, this restaurant is okay. I believe there are probably better places to get drinks and appetizers on Folly Beach, though.

I wanted to come here for lunch based on the reviews that said it had an awesome beach view. Where we were seated there was definitely NO beach view. It was my understanding that they did not seat people on the upper deck (where there is a minimal beach view with some obstructions) until later in the afternoon or evening (on Sunday) so if this is what you are looking for I would just ask prior to being seated. As for the food it was pretty good. I had two bloody mary's which were really good (obviously since I ordered a second)! For lunch I had the wedge salad and the crab soup which was a perfect portion size for lunch. My boyfriend had the southwest salad which he also enjoyed. The service was pretty good but they weren't very busy when I was there. I would recommend Snapper Jack's for a casual beachy bar restaurant. Be sure to check out the view from the upper deck and maybe stay for a drink up there!

The food was great but I do have to slam on the management. We came on college football game night. We are out of towners and the TN game was playing when we came in which sold me. Then as our food was delivered they changed the only TV showing the TN game (all the other on SC understandably) to baseball. I should have walked out when they refused to turn the TN game back on. Not good customer service. Not to sportsmanship. Did not leave happy.

We had the misfortune of sitting rooftop while the band was "singing sound-check", but the real disappointment was the bartender. I didn't catch his name but he was bald and rude as sin. We walked up from the beach and sat at the bar. He was short and dismissive and multiple people in our party had to ask for the check, which he didn't want to give us. We were hoping to relax and have a few drinks but after the first, all 5 of us hated this guy and decided to leave. Maybe his gf dumped him or his dog ran away, Idk and Idc. As a business owner, I would have been mad as hell watching 5 women walk away sober and offended from my bar.

I am struggling to give two stars - maybe it should only be one star. The service was so extremely slow. It should have been a sign when our first drink took 20 minutes to arrive. Beer selection was good and beers come in cans which is fun. I also had a mango frozen drink which was very good. The slow service was a combination of a ridiculously slow kitchen and wait staff who would rather chit-chat with customers than get customers what they need quickly (another drink, silver ware, salt, etc.). We were told the kitchen had a big order that clogged the progress in the kitchen. Maybe so, but waiting an hour and a half for gumbo is insane. The food was edible - nothing spectacular. Roof top deck was nice but really windy. Overall, we spent the entire time at SnapperJack's wishing we had chosen another of Folly Beach's restaurants.

Excellent food well presented! Great casual environment with quality food. Crab legs, fresh catch if the day magi, and flounder were excellent. Highly recommended! PS happy hour too!

Not a great spot for dinner. We went on recommendations from a friend but we were very disappointed. Never got our appetizer and food was bland. I got the catch of the day and it was like something I could have gotten at Applebee's. Won't be going back.

Snapper Jack's is recently under new ownership. I know this because I've lived on Folly Beach for 5 years and honestly never step foot in the place. It was time to give this "new look Snappers" a chance. The new owners have done a great job. It's now clean and non-smoking. The upstairs deck is still the best view on Center Street. The food is now very good, better than average bar food for sure. My party got sandwiches like the falafel burger and buffalo shrimp poboy, and they were outstanding. The house salad had spring mix greens, very cool. No iceberg lettuce in sight. The French Fries are the best on the beach. Crispy battered fries, with Sriracha hot sauce to dip- but only if you ask for it :) I will soon be going back to test out more of their food offerings, like the dinner entrees. Also, I'm curious if they will source any of their seafood locally (perhaps the oysters when it's oyster season?). The servers and hostess were young and inexperienced, but very friendly. The tv's were prevalent and playing NFL preseason games, which I ended up enjoying. I will be back again!

Fantastic seafood! Went for a very very late lunch with a big group of friends and figured that we would get lunch leftovers... you know, limp fries, heat lamped burgers etc. We were completely blown away by the quality of ingredients, the food, and staff. Best fish on that island! We sampled pretty much everything on the menu (including drinks)- fried oysters, fried fish and tuna sandwich were the favorites. We went back for dinner and it was great with the addition of raw oyster from the Raw Bar. Cant wait to get back to Folly and Snapper Jacks!

The restaurant ambiance is pretty cool with the garage doors that open almost the entire wall facing Center Street, so we wanted to give it a try. Two of us sat at the bar. I ordered the Mahi fish tacos and my friend ordered a salad. It took FOREVER for us to get our food. And the Mahi tacos were gross. And this is a fish restaurant! The fish was so slimy and gnarly, I couldn't even eat it. It was like it wasn't even cooked. The pieces of fish were also so tiny it was absurd. If you ever order this, make sure you say "extra Mahi well done." Then again, don't order it. The salad was so-so and the fries were not hot and tasted old. The bartender never apologized or offered anything. We won't be going back. :/

First visit to the restaurant and it will be the last. No wait for a table, we had a party of five, when we arrived and service was friendly. Our appetizers arrived and the crab dip and steamed oysters were good. But then after an hour plus wait for our meals I had to flag down the server to ask why? The surrounding tables had been seated 15 to 30 minutes after ours and had already received their food and were finishing up. I was told "we are busy and the second floor is full. But your ticket is next". When I replied "Seriously?" I received "Nothing I can do about it do you still want your food?" After about 10 more minutes we finally received our food. The only saving grace is the food was tasty. No visit from manager or apology for the wait. Much better places to eat in the area!

I really liked this place! I had the blackened snapper wrap which was great, definitely spicy, and the fries were tits! But I should warn you, they were salty for me, and since my favorite food is salt, that's telling you a lot. JR C. really loved the over the top bloody mary but I have to say, the house was AWESOME! Good prices, friendly service, bathrooms are gnarly. Actually the whole place could use a bucket of Pine Sol but I really don't think they are catering to the Mr. Clean crowd.

I stopped here while checking out Folly Beach during Hurricane Sandy, and although I didn't stick around for a long time, I liked this place. I ordered a couple beers, and the bartender was quite attentive. I really wish I'd have seen him make his bloody mary before I ordered, though. He uses some bottled mix, plus a bit of stout beer, then garnishes with a banana pepper, olive, shrimp, and a big piece of celery, then puts Old Bay seasoning around the rim. Just my style. He poured a bit from a shaker for me, and it was delicious! They offer both quesodillas and nachos in 'preconfigured' fashion or 'build-your-own' stylee. I went with the former, which starts as a $6 cheese quesodilla, to which you add items, a la carte. I ordered blackened shrimp, grilled onions, cilantro, and jalapeno peppers. The shrimp was delicious and cooked just right, and there was a perfect amount of peppers. Even though we're in Mount Pleasant, I'll be coming here for football games and bloodies!

We were looking for a place to relax after a day on the beach and were drawn in by the sound of a band playing on the rooftop bar. Chill atmosphere, a little windy, great view of the ocean. Our food was good, not anything amazing. Drinks were reasonable, bartender was friendly and it seemed like there were a lot of locals as well as tourists. We'll definitely come again next time we visit.

The hostess (Elizabeth) told me about the Buffalo shrimp. I'm a huge fan of Buffalo shrimp and tried them. They were great. The roof is awesome. Where else can you watch the surf from a roof?

I ate at Snapper's a couple of weeks ago when I was in town visiting some friends. The service was excellent, and although they were extremely busy, I never had to wait long at all. Kate was so friendly and such a great waitress. I went upstairs for a couple of drinks later that night, and the bar tending staff was friendly as well. I didn't have to wait long at all for my drinks. I will definitely return the next time I am on Folly!

This was so disappointing because it was our last dinner of our vacation, we'd gone a bit light, preparing for a nice final dinner, but this can only be rated on service alone since we were never able to taste the food. We were told about a 45 minute wait, just after 7:30. We agreed, and proceeded to the bar for drinks. It was very busy in there, but we were able to get a drink. Luckily, after about a 1/2 hour, one in my party decided to wander and found that they actually had another bar area up on the roof top outside. Before heading up top, I checked with the hostess and let her know that we would be waiting upstairs, and did I need to let her or anyone know? She just gave a disgusted eye roll and said "we'll call you" and turned away. This was the same hostess that I checked with about 15 minutes earlier regarding seating. I noticed there were a couple of empty tables next to the bar and inquired if the tables were available to wait at or if they were going to be set up for seating. She rudely looked at me rolled her eyes, said we are setting them up and turned away. The bar up there was busy as well, and had a featured artist playing guitar and singing. After two of us sitting at the bar, and two standing, we noticed tables opening up and asked if we had to be seated there or if they were first come first serve. First come first serve it was we were told by the very pleasant bartender. Before we headed to the table he made sure to tell us that the kitchen was now closed until further notice. We asked further, and said even if we already have had our name in for about 40 minutes at this point. He apologized and explained that the restaurant took in a party of 40 that didn't confirm, so they were unprepared and extremely backed up. We sat at the table to finish our drinks and come up with a plan B. All the while servers from downstairs were hiking food up to the tables on the roof and serving those tables. For the 30 minutes we were seated, no one came to our table to greet, check or ask us if anyone was helping us or if we needed anything. One in my party flagged down one of the servers, we asked about the kitchen, she hadn't heard anything but was going to ask and she would let us know. In the meantime the hostess finally called and said it was now going to be a 3 hour wait. When my cousin inquired about the servers upstairs not knowing about the kitchen and asked further what the problem, all she said was that they have nothing to do with the third floor. We checked out a few places near us and in that time, the waitress who was going to check with the kitchen and get the story for us, continued up and down stairs, serving tables around us and never getting back to us, we flagged her down on our way out and she told us that they were not taking food orders. Thank you for the horrible experience Snapper Jacks, we had a wonderful very late dinner at Rita's. We were seated within 10 minutes, we were served by a great server, and the food was very good.

Very cool bar with a rooftop across the street from the beach with live music and a good variety of beers. I had the grilled salmon in a light creamy whiskey sauce, white rice, and vegetables. It was great. Great place to come for food and drinks after a day at Folly Beach.

  • Kevin L.

Another rooftop that just didn't live up to the hype. I don't know if it's because the focus is toward just throwing back beers and enjoying the breeze, but I went with hopes of good food too. It's Folly Beach so I can drink a cold beer and enjoy the beach anywhere, but good food in that environment should be key. The location is fantastic and if you just want basic food fare and beers, it'lll do the trick. Just don't go with high hopes. The staff is moderately organized and friendly and the beer is cold. So that much was good.

HORRIBLE!!!!! Stay away Went for lunch with my husband and two dogs for lunch on the rooftop. While the rooftop was nice and totally empty when we got there, the food and service result in a 1 star rating. We ordered a can of beer (all they serve upstairs) and a bloody mary. My bloody mary had a blonde hair in it which of course I found at the end of my drink what a NASTY surprise. I didn't say anything to the server because I found it at the end she seemed overwhelmed with all the people that showed up in somewhat of a rush 30 minutes after we arrived. On to the food.... We got a dozen raw oysters. We've had raw oysters everyday since we've been here and I have to say these were by far the worst, not fresh at all. One even smelled so bad that we couldn't eat it. I told the bartender/server and she said that was normal for oysters... Thanks but I don't want to get sick. Did she bring a replacement oyster? What do you think, NO. On to our next appetizer, crab nachos. There is NOTHING nachos about this. It was 6 pieces of chip sized flatbread with a tiny amount of crab and a little cheese and scallions. Sadly, this was the most appetizing thing we had. My husband ordered the Rodeo burger medium, it came out well done. He's a lot less particular and just sat there and ate the hockey puck burger. The accompaniments sounded great, jalepenos, onion ring, etc., but it was quite flat in flavor. I ordered the blackened 'fresh catch' sandwich. Not sure what they tried to pass off as blackened fish the first time around, it was fried with a little salt and pepper, totally dry and tasted like it had been previously frozen. I sent it back because it wasn't blackened. It came back about 7 minutes later, bun not toasted and the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen on a sandwich (about half the size of the first one). Instead of actual 'blackened' fish, they decided to sprinkle some old bay on it. SERIOUSLY? On top of it, my first bite of the second one had two bones in it. I was done, but they still charged me for it after I pointed out the two more than an inch long bones to the bartender/server. Unbelievable, there goes your tip..... Bottom line is if you are looking for a bar to enjoy a couple of canned beers and the view, this may do the trick. If you are looking to eat and have a cocktail that doesn't have a hair in it you may want to go someplace else. BY FAR THE WORST MEAL ON VACATION IN FOLLY BEACH

I travel a lot for my job and had a week-long conference in Charleston and rented a beach house at Folly Beach. I spent a good bit of time looking for somewhere down to earth with plenty of room at the bar so I wouldn't have to get a table. I found Snapper Jack's and thought it cool that both locals and tourists were patrons. The bartender gave better service than I've had in a long time. I truly had the best tuna ever, just kissed by the grill and so fresh-tasting it was swimming that morning. I ate about 4 times at Snapper Jack's and even stopped in for some late night shenanigans. I took my boss and coworkers and they loved it! We'll all be back.

Really bad service. Food was not good. Oysters were good but that's about it. Steaks WAY over cooked and over priced. I'll stay away from tourist traps in the future.

Awesome frozen drinks! Oyster shooters was my husbands favorite thing! Normal prices. Service was good, really cool roof deck! Great views of the island and ocean.

Stopped by on Saturday to cool off and have a couple of drinks. Told the hostess that we weren't eating and she directed us to the bar which was completely full of people watching the World Cup. There was nowhere to sit or stand, but my husband and I grabbed a cocktail table that was empty next to the bar. The hostess sees us sit down and comes over to tell us that since we've decided to sit at a table she'll have to send a waitress to serve us, and slapped a couple of food menus onto the table "in case we wanted to order some food". There were plenty of empty tables for dining, but she made us feel like we were just holding up a table from real customers. Our waitress was very nice and took our drink order and they were fine, but we only stayed for the one drink since we felt that we were not welcome unless we ordered food.

It was a terrible experience. Food took 52 minutes to come out and after it came out my cheesesteak and was burnt was inedible. I loved this place before the change in ownership. I will try another place next visit.

Great service, great food, awesome view of the ocean from the roof deck! The buffalo shrimp appetizer is great.

They were short-handed when I took my wife there, but we still received good service. The food was excellent - I had the porterhouse steak, she had a club wrap, and both were just fantastic! For my drink, I decided to try a "dark & stormy" which is a mix of black rum, ginger beer, and lime juice... and while it's on the pricey side, I would highly recommend it! Two thumbs up here!

I just wasn't feelin it. Had fried shrimp and blackened flounder. Small portions dry fish and tasted bad. Service was ok.

While staying in gorgeous Folly Beach for Thanksgiving, my hubby and I decided to steal away from the family and eat lunch for two at Snapper Jack's. It was good! Think of a bar atmosphere and bar food. We had loaded nachos for our appetizer and burgers w/ fries for lunch. It hit the spot. What I didn't like was the smoking...why can't the whole United States have smoke-free restaurants and bars? Other than that, 4 stars.

Wow where do I start with this nightmare. I am a pretty easy going guy, rarely send food back or complain. It was a busy Friday night at Folly Beach but Snapper jacks wasn't too busy, we waited at the bar, had a good beer and were seated at the table in about 10 minutes. After about 20 minutes our drinks were about gone and we were curious where our waitress was, the hostess found her sitting at the next table next to us with friends, I had noticed her there when we sat down, she was there the entire 20 minutes and laughing with the friends I didn't think she was a waitress. The waitress, Lauren, came over and took our drink order, we ordered soon after and that's where the nightmare started. After about an hour we wondered what had happened to our food, there really wasn't many people eating in this place. About an hour 15 one plate came out, and it took another 15 minutes to get the rest. my chicken was paper thin, cold and dry as rubber, whatever the flatbread shrimp thing was was burned on the bottom and the Salmon was 1/2 inch wide and 3 inches long, for $18 REALLY!!, I have had bigger and better Salmon at Sams as a sampler. The only decent plate was the fried shrimp, tough to screw that up. I gave my plate back to Lauren the waitress and our friend returned the burned flatbread thing and asked for an appetizer which she got quick, it was only shrimp dip, pretty bland btw. The manager came over about 15 minutes later, his name was Jay, he did the typical manager "i'm sorry but I really don't care" routine and said he would look into why our food was so bad, so late and so separated in delivery, I didn't expect to see him again and I wasn't disappointed. So after the chicken and flatbread thing was removed we still owed almost $100 between 4 people, friggen insane for the night we had in that place. I have been in Charleston for almost 20 years and have never had such an experience. We will never go back there, and I tell everyone I know the same, I hope tourists read this and stay clear as well. Lauren find another job, maybe involving a pole, Jay I heard there's a opening at McDonalds

Worst bartender Ive witnessed. The macho type kept skipping my friend over the other night. My friend mind you had a very high tab. Literally watched a girl walk up beside my friend get a drink and the bartender still he did not say anything. Fellow customer called him out on it and bartender responded with nasty attitude "shut the f*** up, I don't need you telling me how to do my job" blamed it on being busy. If this is how employees are allowed to treat customers stay away. There are plenty of other bars on Folly with attentive and pleasant bartenders even when they're in the weeds.

Nice beach bar. And the bartender is really cute. Absolutely a dive, but the he crab soup Tastes like crab! Mahi good too

We went early in the evening mid-week, were seated promptly and had excellent, attentive service. The crab legs scored high marks in our group. I will qualify this by saying we didn't go at a peak time and the results could easily be very different otherwise. For us, though, it was a very nice experience.

Good if you are drunk cause food has little taste ;) Went here cause it was busy and got good reviews. Food was bland - no seasoning! Crab bisque was filled with shells! Good place to watch a game not to eat. ALSO...sushi by Lisa on second floor only is just strange (and I'm totally unsure if its legal) I wanted sushi but I'd have to order and pay for it on the second floor even though my party was on the first floor. Just unexpected. Not going back unless there is a Steelers game on.

Chilled out spot to grab a bit or a beverage close to the beach. Couple patios on the roof make for a nice view. Been here a few times. Can't say I've been blown away but I keep coming back. So that has to say something about it. Def check it out if you need a place to get out of the sun for a bit and relax.

4 of us went in for drinks and appetizers. Placed our drinks and went to the restroom. The flies were so bad in there we would not order food from there. Appeared to be a locals place with 2 pool tables. I would not return

What an absolutely perfect atmosphere for a Friday night on the beach! I walked into a bar full of smiling people, and a great live band. As far as nightlife goes, I couldn't ask for more! It was loud, and alive, so if you are looking for a quiet late night spot, this is not the place for you. But if you're in the mood to enjoy some delicious drinks, great friends, and awesome music, you will be very happy!

The view upstairs is beautiful- there's 4-5 tables that look out over the ocean. We got to pick our own seats (it was around 8 on a Tues.) We got the crab dip to start. It had a lot of mayo and shredded cheese on top. The sandwiches were fine, just totally generic bar food, nothing special. It seemed really pricey for the quality of food we got. We couldn't order water on the rooftop bar (?), just fountain drinks or alcohol. Pretty limited beer selection.

The ONLY open-air rooftop bar that you can see the ocean from in Folly Beach. Friendly staff, friendly people, great drink specials, good variety of bar-food. Big fan of this place and next time I'm in Folly Beach, I'm heading here again.

Snapper Jack's is everything you can want in a bar when going to the beach! (the food is decent too) With three levels holding four different bar's with four different themes and a great bar staff, you'll never have to wait very long for a drink! The First floor has the "Big Bar" (the largest bar in the building), with Mike and Tommy working behind it. The Chill-N-Grill bar is also located on the First floor, and is 21 and over only! Judd and Meghan keep the party going here. It's also where the bands set up, (though you can see and hear the band from the "Big Bar" as well). The Second floor bar is the "Sushi Bar" where you can watch Lisa of Sushi by Lisa roll your dinner, and get a cocktail and a conversation with David and Jenna. This Floor also has an outside deck for dining in the open air. Then you have the Third floor bar, the "Roof Top Bar". It is an open air bar with Cole and Pam working it, and it also has it's own menu, and usually someone playing an acustic set. This place is the best bar on Folly Beach!

Plenty of people recommended Snapper Jack's as a place for live entertainment on the weekends. The crowd was fun but a little pushy, the music wasn't crazy loud, and the decor didn't really stand out. There is a rooftop bar which is appealing to a lot of people at the beach, but overall I wouldn't say you must spend an entire night here. A gf of mine fell at one point because there was a spill left uncleaned and the floors were struggling. Another friend lost her ID and they had it waiting for her there the next morning so that was a big relief!

The food was ok. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't knock your socks off good either. My husband and I got crab legs. My parents had fish and my aunt had chicken. The service was eh. The waitress only became very attentive when she dropped the check. Then she hovered while everyone was collecting money. Who does that?

View from the top floor was good though not much of the ocean can be seen due to the hotels and condos. It does offer a nice view of town though and we went in later afternoon so there was a nice breeze. We ordered the fried pepper jack cheese cubes and a seafood platter. The food was decent, but nothing special. You can get better or comparable food at most of the places in downtown Folly Beach.

The first time I had Sweet Tea Vodka was in this wonderful establishment, on their rooftop, and after about three I pretty much decided that I was going to put up a tent next to the picnic tables and call it my new home. The Sweet Tea Vodka was a nice touch, but even better touch was the crowd - super laid back and beachy bums, sipping their beers in the warm night air. Definitely recommend it as an after beach happy hour spot!

Nothing but good things to say about this place! We stopped in for happy hour, which they cleverly call "Snappy Hour". Super cheap drinks ($2 beers and rails) and a great snack/appetizer type menu on the rooftop. The rooftop cook was awesome. He was courteous enough to come over to our table and explain their small, but delicious, menu to us and explain his goals - decent size portion to fill you, but not big entree size as he wants you to stay and enjoy some drinks after eating rather than being too full and wanting to go home to bed immediately. The rooftop view is also amazing and a great place to ocean and/or people watch. I'll be stopping here again on my next trip to Folly Beach.

The price was great for the food. Great atmosphere, and the service was prompt and so friendly. Our new favorite beach resturant. :) not to mention, perfect for strolling the pier after dinner. Parking was a little bit of an issue though.

Snapper Jack's is that casual neighborhood diner and bar with something to please everyone. Their is a wide selection of sandwiches, starters, salads, burgers, and seafood seafood. The craw fish tale poboy (fried craw fish tales with lettuce, tomato's, onions, and tarter sauce) on a hog's roll is out of this world; everything fresh and greasless,; the same goes for the fries that crisp. The service is very friendly with that southern hospitality as at all of the restaurants in the area. So, for excellent food and drinks at reasonable prices in a clean atmosphere, Snapper Jack's cannot be beat. They also have a television or two going so you do not miss any games. Keep up the good work guys.!

Overpriced and not that great. The wait staff was slow and the food took forever to come out. Would not recommend.

I'm going to give these guys 5 stars today. This is probably our 5th meal here since my initial review and things just get better. The wife had the blackened fish tacos and I had the fried platter today. I would put the tacos up against any that I have had and I would bet that there aren't many places that can beat the fried fish. My platter also had fried shrimp and oysters, which were both tasty. The french fries were much better this time around. The only downside that I had today was that I ordered a basket of hushpuppies for an appetizer then ordered the fried platter as a meal. That was not their fault, it was mine, and the hushpuppies were good just a little too much with the fried platter. Our original intent was to stop and get an appetizer during happy hour along with a drink. We got the best table on the roof and decided to stay for the meal. The menu looked smaller this time but there is still something here for everyone.
